Research Administration

About the Office

We are in an exciting time for Research at GW. The expansion of our Research programs at the Virginia Science and Technology Campus, the building of the new Science and Engineering Hall, and the focus on interdisciplinary research are all contributing to the growth of research at the university. SAIG’s Research Administration area currently supports three stages of the Sponsored Projects Lifecycle through our support of EAS and related systems and with analytics and insight into expenses, compliance, and other areas of Research Administration.

Our Role

SAIG performs the month-end and year-end closing processes for Grants and Accounts Receivables, provides support for the Single Audit and other audits, and supports Grants and Contracts Accounting Services (GCAS) and Office of the Vice President for Research (OVPR) in award setup, expenditure processing, and invoicing. SAIG is responsible for identifying business intelligence and other business process needs along the award setup to closeout flow, designing and developing solutions to those needs, and fully managing the life cycle of those projects to implement those solutions. SAIG Research and Grants Administration also provides system support for the Enterprise Accounting System (Grants Accounting and Accounts Receivable Modules) and GCAS Billing, Reporting, and Closeout Trackers.
